He was predeceased by: his parents, Rev. Rodger J. Thomas Sr. and Shirley Jo (Varner). He is survived by: his wife Penny S. Thomas (Mognet); his sons, Tim Thomas, Adam Thomas (Kristi) and Troy Thomas (Shanna); his grandchildren, Zoey and Brantley; his sons, Benson, Skyler and Max; his sisters, Trudy Rudnik (Mark) and Betsy Statler (Chuck); his parents-in-law, Rayford and Charlotte Allen; and his siblings-in-law, L. Wayne Mognet, Scott Mognet (Kim), Cindy Kessler (Randy) and Toni Mognet. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Locust Grove Church of the Brethren in memory of Rodger.
