It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dolores M. Skrout (South Fork, Pennsylvania), born in Summerhill, Pennsylvania, who passed away on October 28, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Magnus Theobold and Sarah Adelaide Werfel (Noon); her husband William H Skrout; and her siblings, Elizabeth "Betty" Robertine Birkenheiser, Mary Grace DeCarlton, Joseph, Leona Catherine Glacken, Ronald Joseph, Marie Shirley Shostek, Roberta Magdalene Blasic and Peter Augustine.
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Brian Keith Skrout and Lisa Ann Kline (Skrout). She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 1st 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home, Inc. (621 Maple St, South Fork, PA 15956). A Mass was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church (538 Main St, Summerhill, PA 15958). A committal service was held on Saturday, November 2nd 2024 at 1:00 PM at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Cemetery (321 Church Hill Rd, Portage, PA 15946).
Co-leader of the Great Books Foundation and taught adult literacy classes.
