He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Long and Clara Long (Weinzierl); his former wife Pauline Long (Machnik); his son Paul; his brothers, Kenneth (Jean), Raymond (Helen) and Harold; his daughter-in-law Jackie Long (Kohart); and his brothers-in-law, John Schissler and Ronald Noll.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda J. Fresch-Long (Reese); his children, Sandra (Edward Sisenwain), Daniel, Robbie (Seabolt), Thomas, Dennis Gosnell, Patrice (Phillip Shaffer), Winter Haven, Beverly Mitchell, Bruce, Valerie (Matthew Jones), Jude, Jennifer (Rowell) and Jensen Beach; his stepchildren, Gregory Fresch, Douglas Fresch (Ruth), Mineral Point and Randall Fresch; and his sister-in-law Diana Long (Davis). He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 2 step great-grandchildren.
