He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Helms and Mary "Cassie" Helms (Evans); and his sister Margaret E. Dill. He is survived by: his wife Louanne Helms (Bradley); his children, J. Scott Helms (Arta Faye) of Uniontown and Sarah Helms (Kevin) of Inverness; his grandchildren, Lucas, Logan, Lincoln and Leo Helms; and his siblings, Maryann Rizer (James) of Point Marion, Herbert Helms Jr. (Jaydene) of Connellsville, David Helms (Kinish) of Connellsville and Michael Helms (Debbie) of South Connellsville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
