He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert "Bob" Hensel and Minnie Agnes Porterfield Hensel; his wife Helen R. Hawkins Hensel; his daughter Janet A. Hensel; and his siblings, Helen Hensel DeMiere, Paul Hensel, Earl G. Hensel and Sidney R. Hensel.
He is survived by: his sons, Donald Hensel (Patti Younkin Hensel) of South Connellsville and Scott Hensel (Patricia "Patty" Shaffer) of Connellsville; his stepgrandchildren, Derek Weyels of South Connellsville and Dana Weyels of Pittsburgh; his granddaughter Alyssa Hensel (Peter Tu) of Watertown; and his siblings, Margaret "Peggy" Hensel Price of North Carolina, Walter Hensel of Washington and Clarence Hensel (Karen) of Ohio. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
