He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex Cherkas and Gertrude Cherkas (Linen); his brother Linn Robert Cherkas; and his nephew Scott Alan Cherkas. He is survived by: his caregiver Alan Royce; his brother Morris (Mary Rae Cherkas); his niece Colleen Deemer; his nephews, Kevin Cherkas and Todd Cherkas; and also, Shane Royce, Alysse Ritter and Taylor Decker.
