He was predeceased by: his wife Lina S. Hughes (Yoder); his parents, Henry James Hughes and Vertelle Hughes (Ward); and his siblings, Estelle "Jimi" Hayes, Frederick "Sonny" Hughes, Gerald Leon Hughes and Donald Hughes.
He is survived by: his children, Nancy D. Lenhardt (Gregory) of Woodburn, OR, Curtis G. Hughes (Rosa Romero) of Telford, PA, Mary E. Bauer (Jeson) of Quakertown, PA and B. David Hughes (Sherri) of Souderton, PA; his grandchildren, Brooke Jackson (Kevin), Joshua Lenhardt, Michaiah Hughes, Samuel Lenhardt (Bethany), Janessa Hughes, Rebekah Hughes, Caleb Lenhardt, Rylee Bauer and Amelya Bauer; his great grandchild Maxwell Jackson; and his sisters-in-law, Annabelle Hughes of Cleveland Heights, OH and Toshiko Hughes of Fairfield, CA..
