She was predeceased by: her former husbands, Warren Metzler and Merle Betz; her husband Fred Schnabel; and her son Warren Frederick. She is survived by: her children, John Metzler (Adeline) of East Lansing, Sharon Metzler-Ruth (Marlin) of Harleysville and Philip Metzler of Washington, DC; her foster daughter Iris Nicholson (Ransford) of Sarasota, Florida; her stepsons, Carl Schnabel (Lynne) of Green Lane and Richard Schnabel (Cheryl) of Lansdale, Pennsylvania.; her siblings, Lois Frey of Elizabethtown and Wilbur Frey of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her grandchildren, Natasha Metzler (Matthew Johnson) of Los Angeles, Gretchen Metzler (John Mickelson) of Chicago, Matthew Ruth (Kara Miller) of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Benjamin Ruth (Laura) of Harrisonburg, VA, Meredith Nicholson (Donna) of Albany, Georgia, Myrna Stoltzfus (Todd) of Sarasota and Chris Madsen (Joy Roble) of Los Angeles, California; and her stepgrandchildren, Barbara Markwalter (Ken) of Pennsburg and Carl Schnabel (Jennifer) of Lancaster. She is also survived by eighteen great grandchildren.
