He was predeceased by: his parents, Llewellen Heller and Angela Heller (Vizza); his stepfather Melvin I. Heller; his brother David Cope; and his granddaughter Amara Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Cope; his children, Andrew Cope, Sundie McBee (Jason) and Jeff Cope; his sisters, Jean Lancaster and Nancy Gordon; his granddaughter Nevaeh McBee; his niece Nikki Lancaster; and his close friend Paul Moyer.
