We are sad to announce that on February 28, 2023, at the age of 89, Catherine L. Hynek of Smithton, Pennsylvania, born in West Newton, Pennsylvania passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Balko and Anna Balko (Lilek); and her husband Rudolph Hynek. She is survived by: her children, Martin Hynek (Linda), Carol Clarico (Tony), Chris Mlinek (Bob), Rudy Hynek (Rhonda) and Ann Clark (Larry). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
