With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John C. Place Jr. of Smithfield, Pennsylvania, born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 10, 2023 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, John C. Sr. Place and Ruth Place (Overfield). He is survived by: his wife Bessie T. (Elwine); his children, Theresa Palazzolo (Michael) of Dingmans Ferry, John C. Place III (Amy) of Marshalls Creek and Michael J. Place (Ann) of Bethlehem; and his siblings, Helen Tucker of Marshalls Creek, Horton M. Place II (Cassandra) of Sterling, Pardee Place II (Beverly) of North Carolina and Joanne Nelson of Marshalls Creek. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Clark Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
