He was predeceased by: his parents, William Abbey and Olive Connor Abbey. He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Slade; his children, John Abbey (Jenny Studley) of Bradford and Deanna Hudak (Frank) of Smethport; his sister Donna Schneller (Larry) of Cyclone; his stepsister Linda Huntington of East Smethport; his grandchildren, Kayla Raymo (Donovan), Kaitlyn Collins, Cameron Abbey and Jacob Hudak; and his great grandchildren, Brooke Warnick, Braelynn Vossler, Xavier and Lillyannah Abbey. He is also survived by many brother in laws, sister in laws and many nieces and nephews.
