In loving memory of Adelaide M. Stanton of Smethport, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on January 15, 2025 at the age of 96. Adelaide leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Glenn McDowell and Olive McDowell; her husband George Stanton; her siblings, Trilby VanKirk, Phyllis Russell (Rose), Billy O. McDowell, Ralph, Luella and Dale McDowell; and her grandson Joseph M. Stanton.
She is survived by: her children, Kenneth Stanton (Becky) of Belfast, NY, Rick Stanton (Janice) of Portville, NY and Lynn Sluga (Jim) of Mount Jewett; her grandchildren, Holly, Justin, Katy, Isaac, Laurie, Frank, Scott, Danielle, Megan, John, Jonothon and James; and her brother James. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc. (2 Bank St, Smethport, PA 16749). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Home at Kane (PA) Activities Department, or a charity of the donor's choice.
