He was predeceased by: his parents, John Edward and Regina Marie Walsh Nickerson; his son-in-law Michael Barris; his granddaughter Amilia Jackson; and his sisters, Jacqueline Meehan and Rita Kearney.
He is survived by: his wife Sarah Ann Breen; his children, Regina Barris of Saint Petersburg, Eugene Nickerson, Jr. (Cassie) of Beaufort, SC, Mark Nickerson (Cori) of Renfrew, PA, Dan Nickerson (Bekke) of Indiana, PA, Mandee Mumford (Tony) of Strattanville, Amy Nickerson of Clarion, Elizabeth Nickerson (JR) of Fairmount City and Matt Nickerson (Arah) of Asheville, NC; and his siblings, Edwardine Nickerson, John Nickerson (Carol) and Mary Lou Nickerson. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
