It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine E. Ziegenfus of Slatington, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 8, 2025, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Beatrice Meckes; her husband Harold Ziegenfus; her daughter-in-law Susan Ziegenfus; and her siblings, Emma Shupp, Albert Dotter Jr., Claudia Furry and Joyce Brunell.
She is survived by: her stepfather Albert Dotter; her children, Betty Krause (Barry) of Slatington and Robert Ziegenfus (Rita Swanger) of Palmerton; her grandchildren, Amanda Krause of Slatington and Scott Krause of Illinois; and her siblings, Arlene Rios, Beatrice Ziegenfus, Norman Burger, Dorothy Davidson, Donald Burger, Anita Borger, Virginia Cogar, Sterling Burger and Harvey Burger. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Jerusalem Lutheran Church (500 Church Rd, Palmerton, PA 18071). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
