He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Kravontka and Rose Hellen Kravontka (Styka); his wife Lois M. Kravontka (Markel); his sister Katherine Hussey; and his stepson Stacy Farmer.

He is survived by: his sisters, Margaret Bennett and Virginia Morton; and also, Shirley Wolfgang, Kenneth Markel, Gordon Markel, Chelsy Moats and Ivan Alexander. He is also survived by ten nieces and nephews.
