He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy L. Hart and Catherine Hart (Mercer); his brother Robert; and his sister-in-law Crystal Hart. He is survived by: his wife Shirley K. Hart (Bigley); his children, Pegeen K. Batchelor (John) of Lewisberry and John C. Hart (Sharon) of Mechanicsburg; and his grandchildren, Eric, Emily Hart, Ian and Erin Batchelor. He is also survived by four nieces and a nephew.
