It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Orry Shattenberg of Shippenville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 10, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Orry Hays Shattenberg and Dorothy Thomas Shattenberg; and his sister Helen M. Shattenberg. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen M. Gesin; his children, Janet Stewart (Vaughn) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, Kirk Shattenberg (Sharon) of Brookville, Pamala Rapp (Tim) of Clarion and Lori Ida (Barry) of Apollo; his grandchildren, Derek Shattenberg, Brooke Shattenberg, Nicholas Beightel and Courtney Stewart; and his brothers, Walter C. Shattenberg of Shippenville and Robert Shattenberg (Christine) of Oil City. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends.
The military honors was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 1:30 PM at the William N. Rupert Mortuary, Inc. (430 Mendenhall Ave, Knox, PA 16232). Visitation was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location. A memorial service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 6:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
