He was predeceased by: his parents, Audley W. LaVan and Flora Kathryn Bishop LaVan; his siblings, Robert, Edward, Chuck, Nancy Herring, Donna LaVan and Jeanie; and his son-in-law Ken Snyder.
He is survived by: his spouse Marie C. Wagner; his children, Karen M. Hartle (Bill) of Lucinda, Brenda J. Armstrong (Bob) of Clarion, Rick LaVan of Cape Coral, FL and Kathy E. Bauer (Greg) of Shippenville; and his close friend Paul Lauer of Shippenville. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren.
