He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse C. Copenhaver and Pearl V. Copenhaver (Troup); and his siblings, Jane Taylor, Ethel Rupp and Edward Copenhaver.
He is survived by: his close friend Jesse R. Copenhaver; his significant other Madeline Mangiantini; his daughter Susan R. Shields (Keith) of Punxsutawney; his granddaughters, Lindsay Cressley (Justin) of Punxsutawney and Allie Shields of Pittsburgh; his great grandchildren, Camryn Cressley and Ryan Cressley of Punxsutawney; and his sisters, Helen Fetzer of Haines City, FL and Velma Oliver of Shippenville. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
