He was predeceased by: his father Marlin J. Carroll; and his stepfather Guy L. Gipe. He is survived by: his mother Lyla Ethel Ludwig Gipe; his children, Steven D. Carroll, Jr., Bryan P. Carroll (Kristi) and Destini L. Carroll; his grandchildren, Brenton I. Carroll of Greencastle, Mason J. Carroll of Greencastle and Madyson Florentine; his siblings, Salinda Varner, Lynn Carroll Hughes, Wendy Carroll Whiteside and Gregory Carroll; and his stepsiblings, Michael Gipe of Spring Run, Charles Gipe of Spring Run and Victoria Gipe Schuckman of Fort Wayne, IN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
