He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Bachtell and Bertha Bachtell (Pentz); his close friend Ruth Brown Martin; and his children, Richard "Rick" Brown, Debra Brown Houck, Becky Brown Butts, Charles "Buck" Brown, Daniel Dan, Leora "Ella" Brown Baker, Sue Brown Cook, Tina Marie Brown and Joann John.
He is survived by: his children, Delphine Brown Ott, Cheryl Brown Small, Rodney Brown, Sr. and Dale Brown Martin; and his sister Cheryl Shindledecker. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
