He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond C. Martin and Cora Martin (Hawbaker); his stepmother Helen Boll; his daughter Genevieve Martin; his son-in-law Eugene Diem; and his sister Rosemary Keener (George).
He is survived by: his wife Gail Martin (Martin) of Shippensburg; his children, Derwood "Woody" Martin (Wendy) of Shippensburg, Devonna "Voni" Diem of Shippensburg, Gwen Horst (Dale), Darla Druist (Harlan) of Shippensburg, Deanne Raines (Edward) of Bedford, Regan Martin of Hagerstown, MD, Stacy Wiser (Ron) of Newburg and Ramon Martin (Tammy) of Newburg; and his brothers, Eugene Martin (Nancy) of Orrstown, Guy Martin of Lancaster, Dwight Martin (Joanne) of Shippensburg and Allen Martin (Joyce) of Shippensburg. He is also survived by 30 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Galen remained very active his entire life and donated countless amounts of blood, donating every time he was eligible.
