He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Downin and Marie Patterson Downin; his former wife Joyce Downin; and his granddaughter Amanda. He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Thomas Downin; his children, Judy Fossett of Warwick, MD, Carol O'Donnell (Bill) of Spring Run, PA and Paul R. Downin (Joy Russell) of Shippensburg, PA; his grandchildren, Tony Fleegal (Ginny) of Greencastle, PA, Shawnee Knoll (Tommy) of Newark, DE, Katrina, Paul, Kelley and Clair; and his sisters, Alice Cramer of Waynesboro and Mary Smith of Quincy Village. He is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service was held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Parklawns Memorial Gardens (3218 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201).
