He was predeceased by: his parents, Francis M. Hardy and Freda Hardy (Brubaker); his stepfather Richard W. Berkheimer; his sister Linda Bechtel; and his nephew Orville Adkins.

He is survived by: his wife Delores Jane Mull; his children, Paula R. Ocker (Timothy) of Shippensburg and Lamont R. Hardy, Jr. (Julie) of Shippensburg; his grandchildren, Jacob R. of Shippensburg, Trey M. of Shippensburg and Anna G. Hardy of Shippensburg; and his nephews, Jeff Adkins of Chambersburg and Steve Adkins of Mercersburg.
