He was predeceased by : his parents, Alex A. Johnson and Margaret Johnson (Wanagitius). He is survived by : his wife Hope M. Johnston (Walters) of Shippensburg; and his children, Gary A. Johnston, II of Shippensburg, Crystal Frye of Boiling Springs and Candace Johnston of Shippensburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. (51 Asper Dr, Shippensburg, PA 17257). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
