He was predeceased by: his parents, Alex A. Johnson and Margaret Johnson (Wanagitius). He is survived by: his wife Hope M. Johnston (Walters) of Shippensburg; and his children, Gary A. Johnston, II of Shippensburg, Crystal Frye of Boiling Springs and Candace Johnston of Shippensburg. He is also survived by five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and two sisters.
