He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmond R., Sr. and Mildred M. Weaver Bietsch. He is survived by: his wife Barbara J. Swope Bietsch; his children, Susan C. Gaeger (Bennett) of Finksburg, MD, Ryan K. Bietsch (Shelly) of Bridgeton, NJ, Eric W. Needy (Sujeeta) of Annandale, VA and Sharon Bietsch (David Hall) of Mechanicsburg, PA; his sisters, Barbara Reisinger of Shippensburg and Virginia Reisinger of Shippensburg; and his grandchildren, Justin, Carson, Riley, Kory, Jordan and Caden. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
