With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Edward P. Hykes of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, who passed away on April 5, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul E. Hykes and Isabel Gilbert Hykes; and his sister Patricia Robinson. He is survived by: his wife JoAnne L. McDannell Hykes; his children, Angie Oller (Doug Breon) of Shippensburg, Wayde Hykes of Chambersburg and Brad Hykes (Melody) of Chambersburg; his grandchildren, Amber VanWhy (Heath), Laken Cole (Austin), Zachary Miley (Jessica), Jordan Hykes, Devyn Hykes (Arianna), Allyson Lehman (Benjamin), Mandy Cleary (Corey), Jennifer Lundy (Jeremy), Levi Hornbaker (Brenna), Gabrielle McLaughlin and Stone Hykes (Natalie); his nephews, John Gilbert of Pond Bank and Robert Carbaugh of Chambersburg; his cousin Rose Ewan of Chambersburg; and his siblings-in-law, Brenda Seaman, Teresa Carbaugh (Frank), Lori Renfrew (Greg), Marcia Feldman (Jeff), Kristi Yeingst (Jim), Ken McDannell (Marcia) and Troy McDannell. He is also survived by 23 great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home & Cremation Center (333 Falling Spring Rd, Chambersburg, PA 17202). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
