He was predeceased by: his parents, Edna Hippensteel, (Pensinger) and David B. Hippensteel, Sr.; and his sister Linda Luttrell. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Hippensteel (Fickes); his children, Jacqueline Swanger of Shippensburg and David B. Hippensteel, III of Shippensburg; his grandchildren, Selena (Bill Kennedy) of Shippensburg, Mark D. Swanger of Shippensburg and Dylan Alexander of Newburg; his great grandchildren, Layne Swanger of Mechanicsburg and Jeriah Swanger of New Germantown; and his sisters, Patricia (J. Calvin Alt) of Newark, DE and Nancy (Earl Kline) of Shippensburg. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
