She was predeceased by: her parents, Michael Desiderio and Dorothy Desiderio (Verna); and her brothers, Frank and Francis J. Desiderio. She is survived by: her husband Joseph Essig; her children, Vince Essig (Brenda) of Oley, Steve Essig (Teri) of Bernville, Mike Essig (Mary) of Kentucky and Sandee Coughenour (Bill) of Alabama; and her grandchildren, Zach, Teaya, Nate, Amelia, Jeremiah, Katie, James, Olivia, Garritt and Tessa. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Calendar Lutz Funeral Home, Inc. (2100 Perkiomen Ave, Mt Penn, PA 19606). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Catharine of Siena R. C. C. (4975 Boyertown Pike, Reading, PA 19606). A graveside service was held on Friday, April 11th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:45 PM at the Gethsemane Cemetery (3139 Kutztown Rd, Reading, PA 19605).
