He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas C. Shoemaker and Sarah E. Shoemaker (Mensch); and his siblings, May Shoemaker, Violet Boyer, Mary Featherman, Alice Shoemaker Margaret Hough, Arthur Shoemaker, Clyde Shoemaker and Albert Shoemaker.

He is survived by: his wife Thelma Shoemaker (Ruckel); his children, William D. Shoemaker (Sherry), Darlene Gregory (Stephen J. Sr.) and Barry Shoemaker (Kylie); his grandchildren, Christina Gregory, Stephen J. Gregory, Jr. (Julia), Jared Shoemaker (Jamie), Jacob Shoemaker (Laura) and Harmony Shoemaker; and his great grandchildren, Arielle Gregory, Justuss Gregory, Jada Gregory, Tripp Shoemaker, Gage, Gemma Shoemaker, Kylie Shoemaker and Ryder Shoemaker. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
