With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dennis Lightner Sr. of Shermans Dale, Pennsylvania, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 15, 2024 at the age of 84. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob D. Lightner and Mildred I. Lightner (Kuhn); and his siblings, Alma J. Kuhn, Edgar E. Lightner, Beverly J. Sheaffer, Donna M. Ellerman, Barry J. Lightner, Mary L. Garber, Eva J. Burnham and Vincent D. Lightner.

He is survived by: his wife Carol A. Lightner (Carlin); his children, Jill M. Lightner (Brennon D. Umbenhauer) of Landisburg and Dennis F. Lightner, Jr. (Kendra A. Lightner) of Gardners; his granddaughter Keena M. Kirk (Benjamin D. Kirk) of Shermans Dale; his great grandchildren, Addyson J. and Camryn M; and his brothers, Richard A. Lightner of Shermans Dale and Clifford W. Lightner (Aletha) of Blain. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Church of the Living Christ (2401 Fort Robinson Rd, Loysville, PA 17047). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at the Landisburg Cemetery (397 Bridgeport Rd, Landisburg, PA 17040).

I can tell you his son was proud to call him his dad and always spoke about his father like he was a true hero to him his entire life. This man will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
