He was predeceased by: his parents, Frederick E. Schaefer and Elva Baumgartner Schaefer; and his brother Edward F. Schaefer. He is survived by: his wife Ethel Mae Jenkins; his sons, Matthew R. Schaefer and Stephen B. Schaefer (Michael Lentz); and also, Ethan, Cole and Roger Schaefer.
