He was predeceased by: his parents, John L. Covert, Sr. and Stella Cwynar Covert; and his former wife Diane Hillard Covert. He is survived by: his wife Shirley Frazer Covert; his son John A. Covert (Stephanie); his stepsons, Jeremy Green (Stacey) of New Castle and Timothy Green (Kristin) of New Castle; and his sister Kathleen Newton (Howard) of Culpeper, VA.
