He was predeceased by: his mother Barbara Johns Akins; and his sister Donna Hensel. He is survived by: his father Melvin Akins, Sr.; and his siblings, Melvin, Kenny, Steve (Amy), Scotty, Donny (Erika), Mark Akins (Autumn), Timmy Hensel, Brenda Akins and Vickie Helmuth (William). He is also survived by sixteen nieces and nephews.
