He was predeceased by: his parents, William Gerald and Cora Belle Montgomery (Johnston); his wife Stella May Montgomery (Lydick); his son Robin Carlton Montgomery; and his son-in-law Ron Condrick.

He is survived by: his daughters, Condrick, Leisa, Bruner (Randy), Carla and Frazee (Stephen) of Friendsville, MD; and his daughter-in-law Debbie Montgomery. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren four Great Great Grandchildren.
