He is survived by: his children, Deb Niemeier (Larry), Steve Plavi (Carol), Mary Ann Lind (John) and David Plavi (Candace); his grandchildren, Bonnie, Carry, Amber, Ben, Katie, David, Natalie and Kent; his sisters, Mary Jo Tyger of Indiana, Cindy Davis of Indiana and Peggy Miller (Fred) of Indiana; and his close friend Janie Helman. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren.
