He was predeceased by: his parents, William McCroskey and Adella Angeline McCroskey (Thomas); his wife Evelyn Faye McCroskey; his brother William McCroskey; and his son Michael Louttit.

He is survived by: his children, Herbert McCroskey (Patty) of Pittsburgh, Christina Myers (Leo) of Pittsburgh, David McCroskey of Pittsburgh, Sherri Watkins (Jim) of Shelocta, Jennifer Sandolfini (Bruno) of Homer City, Steven Louttit (Heidi) of New Kensington and Christopher Louttit (Linda) of Creekside. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 -great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews as well as many friends.
