He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gillespie and Mildred Gillespie (Hankey); and his siblings, Paul, Marlin Gillespie and Georgia Richard.
He is survived by: his wife Gladys Gillespie (McElhattan); his children, Charles F. "Chip" Gillespie, Jr. of Altoona, Jason T. Gillespie of Shelocta, Tammy J. Gillespie of Shelocta and Vicki S. Wallje of Whitesburg; his grandchildren, Alaina Harkleroad, Nathan Gillespie, Keith Wallje (Jessie) and Melissa Wadding (Brent); his great grandchildren, Launa, Mrata Wadding, Jakob and Bennett Wallje; and his brother Melvin Heffelfinger of Whitesburg.
