He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Bortner and Gertrude Bortner (Miller); his son Robert A. Bortner, Jr.; and his brother Edwin Bortner. He is survived by: his wife Joyce McCracken; his daughters, Christine Golub of Sharpsville, PA and Kathryn Bortner (Steve Cundari) of Lakewood Ranch, FL.; his grandchildren, Richard "RJ" Golub (Lindsey), Robert E. Bortner and Nikaya Glatt; his great grandchildren, Luca and Gia Golub; and his nieces, Susie Bortner-Wiley and Jennifer Bortner. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
