He was predeceased by: his parents, William Chavara and Mary Jane Chavara (Chnapko); his wife Kathy Turner; and his brothers, Steve and William Chavara.
He is survived by: his sons, Michael J. Chavara (Terry) of Pittsburgh, Ryan T. Chavara of Pittsburgh and Robin A. Chavara of Wilmington, NC; and his siblings, Rose Skero (Tim) of Hermitage, Clark of Hermitage, Elaine Simonik (Dave) of Hermitage, Janie Griffith (Ken) of Hermitage, Joe Chavara (Barb) of Palm Coast, FL, John Chavara (Patty) of Hermitage, Tom Chavara (Lisa) of Hermitage, Tim Chavara (Diane) of Hermitage, David Chavara (Kathy) of Wexford, PA, Charlie Chavara (Kelly) and Sharon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
