He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Allen and Ruth Allen (Barefield); and his sister Linda Ward. He is survived by: his sons, Robert E. Allen Jr. and Franklin; his former wife Gloria Jean Allen; his grandchildren, Steven John O'Brien and Ashley Diane Palmer; his great grandchildren, Colleen, Camdyn O'Brien, Bentley, Leon and Lennox Palmer; and his sisters, Shirley McCarthy, Barbara Forsyth (Larry) and Laura Lee Allen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
