He is survived by: his wife Janet Mae Davis (Sharon); his children, John (Nellie King), Jay (Nicole) and Karen Wendel Jim (Bernie Jim); his grandchildren, Marina, Anthony, Aubrey, Anna, Wesley, George, Ella, Ginny and Lily; and his siblings, Gail Byrne (Robert), Joyce Sipe (Pete) and Don Wendel (Marlene).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, or Hickory United Methodist Church.
