He was predeceased by: his parents, John Rice and Althea Rice (McDonald); his son Jon Rice; his sister Shirley Rice; and his stepdaughter Brandi Huff Waites.
He is survived by: his pets, Cupid, Little Bit and Half Pint; his wife Carol Myers; his former wife Diane Rice of Arizona; his daughter Amy Hosey (Matthew) of Youngstown, OH; his stepdaughter Heather Huff of Boardman, OH; his siblings, Debbie Schlaich (Bill) of Florida and Randy Rice of Masury; his grandchildren, Taylor Schuster, Logan Schaum, Jason Lester Kirk, Jr., Thomas Skcufa and Navy Waites; his nephew Josh Akin; and his nieces, Tara Akin and Jennifer Rice.
