He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Riley and Bernice Redmond Abbott; his wife Virginia Mae Thompson Abbott; his son Timothy Abbott; and his brothers, Edward "Bill" Abbott and Chester Abbott.
He is survived by: his sister Catherine Chambers of Ohio. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
