It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Protopresbyter Michael Polanichka (Sharon, Pennsylvania), born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 20, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Polanichka and Susan Polanichka (Chuvan); his wife Pani Eleanor; and his brother John C. Polanichka. He is survived by: his former wife Eleanor Jean Hazuda; his children, Valerie J. Dick (William) of Annapolis, MD., Justine MacNeil of Ellicott City, MD. and Michael D. Polanichka (Brenda) of Simi Valley, CA.; his grandchildren, Kaela Merkle (Richard), Jason Micucci (Courtney), Cameron MacNeil, Brianna Dick, Jordan Zdinak (Paul) and Taylor Polanichka; his great grandchildren, Aidan, Eileen Micucci, Jennifer and Claire Merkle; and his brothers, Andrew Polanichka (Joanne) of Hershey, PA and Nicholas Polanichka (Maryann) of Dalton, PA.. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
