She was predeceased by: her parents, Ed Odem and Veola Odem (Holloway); her husband LeRoy Higgins; her siblings, Gloria Cooper, Thelma Scales, John L. Odem, James Odem, Samuel D. Odem, Tommy Odem, Theodor Odem and Billy Wayne Odem; and her grandchildren, Dawaylin and Baby Boy.
She is survived by: her children, Yolanda Brooks (Ernest) of Sharon, Katina Higgins (Derek Cheeks) of Frederick, Maryland and Lamont Higgins of Sharon; her siblings, Elnora Laney, Fred Lewis Odem of Farrell and Ed Odem, Jr. (Rita) of Farrell; her grandchildren, Essence, Ebony, E'Honesty, E'Leyah, DeVaughn and Tradale; her godson Lyndale; her niece Kim Odem; and her close friend Robert Gilmore. She is also survived by friends, nieces, and nephews.
