It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James D. Merchant Sr. of Sharon, Pennsylvania, who passed away on January 4, 2023, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Merchant and Elsie Merchant (Scott); and his siblings, Catherine Carter and Raymond Merchant. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Rouns; his children, Jean Sinkus (Rich), James Merchant, Jr. (Brenda) of Huntsville, AL, Jeffrey Merchant (Mary Alice), Joseph Merchant (Pam) of Lincoln, NE and George Merchant (Sarah); his siblings, Betty Marosy of Sharon, Shirley Keasey of Sharon, Bonnie Ayers of Sharon, Lawrence Merchant of Hermitage, William Merchant (Linda) of Hermitage, Leslie Merchant (June) of Hermitage and Ralph Merchant (Mary Ann); and his pet Star. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
