He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin E. Gilmore Jr. and Margaret Brooks (Bailey-Hill); his daughters, Quiana Morton and Tyandra Morton; and his sisters, Edith "Shirley" Sims, Delores Barnes, Carol Asbury-Williams and Laverne Gilmore.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Brown (Jermaine), Michael Lane (Brandi), Jamal Hill (Tiffany), Ervin Hill Jr., Tre'Hill and Sharon; and his siblings, Jacqueline Fears of Columbus, OH, Sandra Gilmore of Youngstown, OH, Michael Hill of Columbus, OH and Doran Hill of Ashtabula, OH. He is also survived by 39 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
