He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernard Malett and Eva Zablosky (Hine); his wife Patsy Malett (Lebo); and his sister Judy Picarelli (Hine). He is survived by: his children, Bernard Malett (Jeannie) of Elysburg, Leon Malett (Shirl) of Coal Township, Terry Malett of Shamokin, Melissa Dressler (Charles) of Coal Township and Valerie Malett of Shamokin; his grandchildren, Janessa Malett, Zachary Malett, Nathan Malett, Rebecca Dressler, Stephanie Dressler, Lindsay Mincemoyer and Eric Mincemoyer; his sisters, Rosalyn Walter of Elysburg and Linda Schreffler of Dalmatia; and his great grandchild Leon Jacob Malett of Shamokin. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
